Purpose
This Program is designed to train those who wish to dive to depths between 39 meters and 60 meters on open circuit and to a maximum depth of 51 meters on rebreathers, but who do not wish to breathe air below 39 meters. Trimix affords a means of reducing narcosis on dives to such depths.

Prerequisites
Must be qualified as an IANTD Advanced EANx Diver or equivalent.
Must provide proof of a minimum of 100 logged dives, of which at least 30 were deeper than 27 meters.
OR
If being accepted in the Program based on equivalent experience:
Must be a qualified IANTD EANx Diver or equivalent.
Must provide proof of a minimum of 150 logged dives, of which at least 50 were deeper than 27 meters.

If doing the course on a rebreather: must have 20 dives and 25 hours on the rebreather being used.
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

Dives
Pool/confined water Session
Two Air/EANx dives (max 39 meters) in open water.
On all of the dives the student must manage one stage cylinder.
Three 39 to 60 meter dives on Trimix using one gas switch.

Each dive has a score system which both you and your instructor scores. Should you not score enough, you will be required to do more dives at extra cost.

Lectures
Theory will be covered between dives. Pre reading will help the smooth running of the course.

Expedition
Trimix

Purpose
This program is designed to train OC or RB Divers already involved in deep diving activities to more safely conduct exploration dives requiring extended decompression profiles and helium-based gas mixture. The knowledge and skills taught in this program are more than adequate to qualify divers to perform Trimix Dives outside of training up to 120 msw.

Prerequisites
Must be qualified as an IANTD Trimix Diver or Trimix Rebreather Diver or equivalent.
Must have at least 300 dives of which 100 were Trimix dives or sufficient experience conducting technical dives to satisfy the instructor that the student has the ability and knowledge to continue into this level of training.

Furthering your career:

Technical Instructor Levels
There are many Technical Instructor levels above Open Water; please consult us for more details. Prerequisites differ, but you will need to have done the at minimum the student course for each level you're interested in. We advise you to be at least a student levels above the actual course you want to Instruct. For example, if you want to instruct Advanced Nitrox, be a Normoxic Trimix diver - that way you are assured of knowing in full detail what Advanced Nitrox is all about.

IANTD believes that being confident, competent and knowledgeable, through responsible training, enables one to survive the seemingly un-survivable situation.
